Building the Bridge from War to Home

One Step At A Time
Run 5K or Walk a Mile to Heal PTSD

Local men and women who served in Iraq and Afghanistan are suffering PTSD and/or TBI - "the invisible wounds of war".

America Helping Heroes and Horses 4 Heroes have partnered together with
the common goal of healing OEF/OIF Veterans.

The goal of 5k for Heroes is to bring the community together in honor of those who have served while raising funds to provide proper treatment and solutions for PTSD and TBI.

Combining horse therapy through Horses 4 Heroes, treatment of PTSD and TBI with famous "brain doctor" and New York Times best selling author Dr. Daniel G. Amen of The Amen Clinic, and an individualized reverse boot camp from the world renowned Tony Robbins Institute - our heroes will be able to move forward in their post-war lives with real help and solutions for the signature injuries of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans.
5K for Heroes is an exciting community event with something for everyone to enjoy. Set on the beautiful Crystal Springs Main trail in Griffith Park, the event will serve to unite Los Angeles to heal PTSD for today's veterans and those of tomorrow.
5K for Heroes is perfect for the serious, seasoned runner, beginners, and those who just want to walk. The course has a dirt surface. The event is open to all ages and levels.
While awareness is raised of the importance of building a bridge from war to home, the atmosphere will be full of celebration with a Registration Pick-Up Party complete with celebrities, incredible gift bags, entertainment, and a bib raffle.

5K FOR HEROES will be an event to be remembered.

America Helping Heroes is a non-profit organization founded by author/musician Angela Alegna. Deeply moved by the high rate of veteran suicide and homelessness, Angela wrote the ground-breaking book "Coming Home Moving Forward - Obliterating the Seven Obstacles of Life After War" (AB Publishing).

America Helping Heroes is based on the final scene of "It's A Wonderful Life" with individuals who want to help connecting with those in need. As more and more communities across the country participate in what is fast becoming known  as the "Neighborhood Initiative", Angela is spotlighting the many issues that affect our veterans and working on both a community and legislative level to create a proper foundation of coming home and moving forward for all combat veterans present and future.
Horses 4 Heroes is the nation's premier non-profit equestrian support group for the military, veterans, first responders and their families. Through a national network of equestrian facilities and riding centers in 43 states and Canada, Horses 4 Heroes provides able-bodied and therapeutic programs and activities for all ages, riding levels, and supports all breeds and disciplines. Horses 4 Heroes empowers families and changes lives, one equestrian experience at a time.
